Friends

We have made some remarkable friends in the short time we are here. Some of them were missionaries, people visiting Uganda from all over the world, and many Ugandans. Today I want to tell you about our Bible Study Groups that we have had the pleasure of being a part of this summer.

Brian has had the pleasure of being a part of a small group of men through Acacia Community Church. These men expressed the need for a group of men to go deeper with and Brian and Pastor Terry were more than excited to get that started. It has been so encouraging to Brian to hear their stories and see the similarities in the Lord’s leading in their lives and our own. HIs group is just recently formed and are still getting to know each other, but I know already that he will miss the fellowship when we leave.

My group is a motley crew. At one point, we were two Americans, one girl from England and one from China all meeting together in Uganda. It almost sounds like the beginning of a joke. But believe me, it has been no joke. The Lord has used that time together to do some incredible things.

My English friend, was here in Uganda seeking her next steps in life. The Lord used her time here to draw her back to the Lord, awaken forgiveness in her heart and return her home to England. I received a message from her just yesterday and I am so encouraged by the Lord’s faithfulness in her life.

My Chinese friend is another incredible story. She is here with her father for the summer on a business trip. Her father is a believer and asked if she could meet with someone to work on her English, as well as learn the Bible.  His prayer was that if anything ever were to happen to him, she would know the truth and be able to carry it on in his family. This sweet teenager met with us for several weeks, and admitted that she was still learning about Jesus, but would not consider herself a Christian. This last week, I had the opportunity to clearly share the gospel with her. She said that she had heard parts of the story of Jesus, but not the things that I shared with her. She accepted Jesus last week during our group time! Thank you so much for praying for this group!

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:3-6

Thank you for supporting us this summer. Thank you for partnering with us in the gospel here in Uganda, and apparently in England and China as well. Who knew! Thank you for joining us in ministry. Your encouragement and prayers are vital to all that God is doing here.

Prayer Requests:

We have 2 1/2 weeks left. This week Brian is teaching in two Bible Training Schools on the book of Mark. Each day he he teaches, he travels 1 1/2 hour to these schools, but he LOVES it!!!!! On Sunday night, our team from BridgePoint arrives. We have a slammed final two weeks full of evangelism, discipleship training, meeting with a group of women forced into prostitution for survival and school drop outs, and PACKING! Please pray for our team as they travel. Pray for our ministry days. Pray for us as we prepare to return to America. Pray for us as we continue to work through the possible next steps for us regarding Uganda.

Thank you so much for your support and encouragement!
